The Tussie Mussie...
The tussie mussie of the past comes from humble origins, as do most of our modern ideas. Originally used in the Victorian era, the tussie mussie was created to hold flowers for the genteel lady who wished to disguise the more "displeasing odors" of common street life. This cone was usually crafted from metal. The tussie refers to the knot of flowers held by the cone, and the mussie refers to the moist moss that was tucked into the bottom of the cone to keep the flowers fresh.
Today's tussies can be filled with flowers, herbs or even used as an elegant holder for gifts. A QuillySilly tussie is perfect to fill with soaps, small gifts or even candies, presenting an elegant gift wrapping that can be used to accent any romantic decor.
